Joshua Tree never disappoints with its unique style of climbing. Here Max on a climb that looks much harder than it actually is. We hiked all the way into Johnson's canyon to get on this gem. It was Max's first time climbing in the park and he was quite surprised by the funky moves he busted out and the stiff ratings. We kept hearing "this is the hardest 5.7 (and you could insert any rating here) I have ever done! Yes… Joshua Tree is no ego booster!! After a few pitches, he got the hang of it and suddenly palming, stemming and other odd moves were busted out with more ease. Good job Max!

Yesterday was a great day! We were sooooo psyched to celebrate Paul's bachelor party on tue rocks. These guys warmed up quickly after our nice approach hike to the rocks. We saw a lot challenges being tackled amd comfort zones pushed. It was almost everyone's first time rock climbing outdoors. What looked impossible soon was summited with huge smiles and feelings of accomplishment. To top of a great day, we also taught them how to rappel which was perfect for a "high gravity" day like this We had a blazt and look corward to seeing you guys back again.

Amazing session with Jamye and Kevin yesterday. These two were super fun. We laughed a lot and learned many little details that created quite a few "a-ha" moments. It was their first time climbing outdoors after 1.5 years of consistent gym climbing. One could tell, their moves were spot on! Now its time to learn some rope skills. We look forward to our next session. Belay on!

We had such a great time in Joshua Tree with Jeff. We ended up climbing over 10 pitches on 4 different formations. It was a calm day out after a stormy day. It was Jeff's first time in the park amd we kept hearing "wow, this is different – I have never climbed something like that!" Yes! JTree truly has its unique style and we made sure to sample as much of the diversity as possible!! Great day out.

Digging deep for a smooth handjam. This technique was a new one for Carter who celebrated his birthday with us on the rocks. It is amazing how a little bit of instruction can teach new concepts so quickly. He went from "no way! That' painful" to "wow, this handjam thing actually feels very supportive". All you got to do is stick your straight hand into the crack and pull your thumb down into the surface of your hand. That makes your lower hand part wider and jams it into the crack. Well done! Our climb here – "Beautiful", 5.5 is one of the smoothest and greatest crack for first handjammers – come try out yourself 🤘

What an amazing session with Jeff yesterday afternoon. We could not have asked for better weather conditions with nice temperatures, clouds and sun mixed! It was Jeff's second session with us and he is training for his big ascent in the Himalayas next year. His goal is to climb as much as possible to get his endurance game and technique up! And so we checked out a bunch of climbs in all kinds of styles from chimney to face and crack (we even got him on a sweet short offwidth). A lot of the climbs we topped out and scrambled over to the next one to rappell in from the top – true adventure style! We cannot wait for our next session in Joshua Tree. Well done Jeff!

Yesterday we had an amazing day teaching trad climbing skills to our new friends from Nebraska. Susan and Ben already brought in a good amount of experience lead climbing in their local gym. After a full day on the rocks they were able to place "bombproof" cams and build almost flawless 3 piece trad anchors. We also pointed out many details and creative ways to deal with certain situations that we made up. We are proud of them… they were sharp and their critical thinking skills made this session a very effective one

Back at our main office in San Diego. We had a great private session with this beautiful couple from London. It was their first outdoor experience after one year of gym climbing once a week. We kept hearing "this is so different…. this so cool". Their expectations of the trip were topped Clearly! they are hooked. 🤘

We are so impressed by Stanley! At the sweet age of 77 he is still climbing and busting moves in the vertical. Yes! It might be a little bit slower here and there but the feeling of enjoyment, accomplishment and badassery is the same. And so we climbed six amazing pitches in Joshua Tree. Big smiles and great inspiration

Sea cadets in action! Day 3 of our winter training. Everybody crushed it as we all applied the basic principles of building anchors and lead climbing. We are impressed with how strong and motivated our group is! Now we look forward to what today brings. On belay
