Canyon Tajo, Baja California. Here Mr. Jason @shepherdimages on one of many rappels down the "PanAm" route that ascends the majestic rock formation of "el gran trono blanco". It was a cold sunny day and we made an effort to replace all the anchor station bolts and equipped them with rappel rings! Fun approach climbing over water into the creek.This is Malibu Creek climbing: a great place for exploring some of the coastal climbing in California. Just a few miles inland with a little over a hundred routes, Malibu Creek is quite a destination for the local L.A. climber or travel through climber like us. Pocketed steep volcanic rock and entirely bolted with ratings from 5.5 to mostly 5.10, 5.11 and much harder. @jcdiggles having a good time at Frustration creek. This small area features about 50 routes that are tucked away in a narrow canyon just next to highway 38 leading to Big Bear. Most of the routes are located on the steeper left side of the canyon (looking upstream canyon) and few easier climbs are on the right. Left side is northeast facing and so gets a lot of afternoon shade. Great for hotter days in California! Red Rock Las Vegas – Sandra at the last rappel/1pitch of "Birdland, 5.7" This route is such a classic for a good reason. Very featured and clean with mostly great belay stations always bolted and equipped with rap chains. It was a nice chilly day and it felt good to be in the sun the entire time of the climb. As a team of 3 we completed all 5 standard pitches and rappelled down the route from anchor station to anchor station. We all had a great time being out there and looking down on Las Vegas and realizing how crazy awesome this world is. Sandra by the way finished her first ever rock climb that day… Way to go!! ??
